Maybe this could be fixed by calibrating both at the same time? That my big question and is the mamba monster water resitant at all? I have the Mamba Max Pro with the 1410 3800kv now. The Platinum Edition's steering blocks, C-hubs, and rear hub carriers are all contructed of lightweight, high-strength aluminum for superior durability and rigidity.
I may even jump to a 23 pinion as the motor runs really cool on my current setup. I also have a lcg slash project with a Mamba Monster New castle 1515 2200kv. The MM2 likes to loosen up and strip the spur gear.

And I told him the drive train would never hold up, he is very hard on his rc's.. To my amazement the drive train is really holding up. Gonna try and video also. Front down will be a problem! I have it on the setting that is supposed to go a little easier on the drivetrain and it still has massive amounts of power. On our local track the straight stretches aren't that long, so I don't see how more speed would be of any benefit. I got it because I was worried about the heat issue with the Velineon system. The local track only allows 2 cell lipos. What possible benefit could anyone get with a more powerful system on their Slash 4x4? While bashing I've used a 3 cell lipo and don't really care for it. It is so fast that it is hard to control. It sometimes leaves the ground even when you don't want it to. I have the exact same issue. I just fried a Velineon with a 3s. I am looking for a motor that can take a beating and run back to back 2s lipos on te track. I do want the truck to be able to bash and run hard as well as play on the track. How are you liking the CC? I am trying to figure out what motor to buy now! I really like my CC SCT Pro. I think it would be able to do what you want it to do. My only concern is that the esc isn't waterproof. I bought a temperature gun at Harbor Freight to keep tabs on the temps. With the tunability of the esc, you can keep a close eye on it and try different settings. The CC SCT Pro comes with a driver's ed. Actually all of the Castle combos come with what they call a driver's ed book. You said you wanted to bash also. The MMP esc that comes with the set is hydrophobic, so I won't run my Slash through the water I would when I had my Velineon System. The Neucastle 1410 3800kv motor is a four pole motor and should hold up better than the Velineon system. Youtube probably has some videos about the Neucastle Castle Creations 1410 motor. Mine has the 5mm shaft. I had one in mine for the longest time then got a amazing deal on a tekin4600, Rx8. Tried to post a pic but computer is being stupid if you go to the T-RCE thread pg 33 post 659 you can see my slash. Always ran it on 2s never anything more. Never snapped any driveshafts always ran cool. I built me another slash so i put it in that. I ended up with the CC 1415 2400kv. That motor is HUGE! It's a 4pole and due to low kv is a torque monster. I may even jump to a 23 pinion as the motor runs really cool on my current setup. On this ratio I can run the 3s but the motor does get warmer so I don't do that often. Though I love the motor, next time I think I am going to go sensored. I like the smoothness of a sensored motor vs my current unsensored. I think it's been a worthwhile upgrade. It blasted this beach session with lots of speed and dig! Hi every one new to the site. You said you wanted to bash also. Unless you'd like the get a waterproof esc the Monster 2 or Monster X are both great buys. The CC SCT Pro comes with a driver's ed. The Velineon 3500 brushless glad and VXL-3s electronic speed control combine to pump out dirt-chewing, wheelie-popping torque and power. That would be insane. What possible benefit could anyone get with a more powerful system on their Slash 4x4. Ultra Efficient Shaft-Driven 4WD The Slash 4X4 Ultimate uses just three gear meshes to drive all four wheels, eliminating the need for a multi-gear transmission. Altho I dont think the OP has racing in mind, from a bashers POV, a 2S or 3S 5-8000 mah lipo would be plenty. But hey, you do what you gotta do.
